Biomass water tube boiler

Project Overview

New bespoke biomass watertube boiler designed,
manufactured, and supplied by Thorne International Boiler
Services Ltd. in 2008 to an overseas sugar refinery to
incinerate and generate steam from excess bagasse.

Incinerator designed and supplied as first phase with boiler implementation supplied as second phase.

Boiler designed in accordance with BS 1113.

Two-stage superheater design with interstage non-contact
attemperation utilised for superheated steam temperature
control.

Primary and secondary fans supplied as part of full turnkey supply of steam plant together with ash handling system, grit arrestor, air heater, economiser, and boiler trim.

50m high, 2.5m diameter chimney supplied as part of scope of supply.

Viewing ports included throughout boiler for viewing
condition of boiler heating surfaces.

Supplied by Thorne International Boiler Services Ltd.
including installation, commissioning, and testing.
